Respiratory TherapistTraveler – Highlands Ranch Hospital, Highlands Ranch, CO
Our respiratory therapy department administers all respiratory medications, cares for all patients with airways and manages all patients on oxygen devices including high flow nasal cannulas, Bi-Paps and ventilators. We respond to all emergencies in the ED, codes and rapid responses, assist with intubations, bronchoscopies and bedside tracheostomies. We assist in our women and children's unit including our NICU. We collaborate with nurses and physicians to provide excellent care to all our patients, provide education and assist with oxygen needs for discharge.

Graduate of an accreditedRespiratory Therapy program.
Bachelor's degree preferred
1 year recent / current / likeexperience as a RRT Traveler
Registered as a RespiratoryTherapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Statelicensure if required by law.
BLS and ACLS
BLS and ACLSthroughthe American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for theProfessional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLSand ACLS preferred card must be good through sixty days ofhire. All life support certification cards must be issued byeither the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR forthe Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescueris only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through anAmerican Heart Association sanctioned course.)
Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy perplan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and proceduresbased on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Respondsto codes and calls for emergent assistance.
Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriatetreatment utilizing appropriate protocols.
Educates the patient and family about the patient'sillness and provides information about community resources.
Within scope of job, requires criticalthinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimalsupervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and takeappropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protectiveequipment as required.

This position's payrate is $45.00/hour + travel package/stipend.
