Advertisement Position Announcement Child and Adolescent Therapist – Full Time Position Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday – Friday Position Summary This is a full-time, grant-funded position with the McLean County Children’s Advocacy Center. Ideal candidates will possess a Master’s Degree in counseling or related field and will have or be willing to obtain a minimum of 25 hours of continuing educational credits in the field of evidence based trauma focused cognitive behavioral treatment, trauma and trauma-informed care. Licensure at the LCPC/LCSW level or eligibility for licensure is preferred, however a candidate in a master’s level internship program may be considered with certain supervisory requirements. The Child and Adolescent Therapist will work with child victims of sexual or serious physical abuse and their families who have received services at the CAC. The therapist will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team providing input on the clinical needs of child victims. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Provide trauma focused therapy including assessment, treatment, referral and ongoing support to child victims of abuse and their non-offending caregivers or siblings * Participate as a full member of the multidisciplinary team, including attending weekly Case Review sessions * Attend trials where past and present clients are testifying to provide emotional support, as appropriate * Provide professional testimony on behalf of clients when court ordered or requested by prosecution * Provide written documentation regarding client’s participation in treatment when court ordered or requested to do so * Gather and submit required data for grant completion and contract renewal * Provide services to McLean, Livingston and Dewitt County clients as determined appropriate * Carry liability insurance Required Qualifications * Possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field * State licensure at the LCPC/LCSW level preferred * Minimum of 30 hours, every two years, as required of licensure of continuing education relating to issues of child maltreatment * Training and/or experience with child abuse and trauma treatment Benefits Package McLean County offers a comprehensive benefits package including: * Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance * Medical Member Rewards Program * Health Savings Account (HSA) * Flex Spending Account (FSA) * Dependent Spending Account (DSA) * Supplemental Insurance: Life, Critical Illness and Accident * County provided Life Insurance * Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF Pension) * Paid time off: vacation days, personal days, sick days, holidays * Identity Protection * Charitable Giving * Discounted Four Seasons Health Club Membership * Employee Assistance Program About McLean County Government The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) is where children are brought when there has been an allegation that a child may have been sexually abused, seriously physically abused, a witness to a major crime, and/or a victim of human trafficking. In McLean, Livingston, and DeWitt Counties, DCFS and law enforcement are required to bring children to our centers to be interviewed by a forensic specialist utilizing the “child first” doctrine. This is part of a multidisciplinary team approach that provides children with a warm, friendly environment that is focused on reducing trauma to child abuse victims. All professional disciplines who work on these cases (law enforcement, DCFS, prosecution, medical, mental health, forensic specialists, advocates) work together from day one to case closure. Our advocates on staff assist the family as the case is to move through the judicial system. A trained, licensed therapist is on staff to provide counseling to the child victims and their non-offending caregivers, as well.
