Certified Respiratory Therapist
Provision of treatments, therapies including medication, to patients of all ages in accordance with physician written orders and in accordance with the organization and department policies and procedures. Has knowledge and training to apply special equipment and techniques in a manner that provides positive patient outcome. Has knowledge and training to assess patients for respiratory care needs and support, and ability to assess treatment or therapy outcome. Completes documentation of all aspects of patient care
Education and/or licensure requirements:
Graduate of an approved two-year School of Respiratory Care or equivalent with current credentials of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Must have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification (CPR).
Must have a valid State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
Be able to apply the learned principles, methods, and techniques of Respiratory Care, the use, care and operation of Respiratory Care equipment and supplies.
Must know the various locations of departments within the hospital, their policies and procedures. Experience:
Six (6) to twelve (12) months of previous experience in an inpatient care setting is desirable.
