Columbus Regional Hospital Recreation Therapist in Columbus, Indiana
What you need to know about this position:
Our Mental Health unit (housed on the Columbus Regional Health campus) is an 18-bed secure inpatient unit treating adults 18 and older who are experiencing acute mental illness.
We provide an individualized program for the intensive treatment of mental disorders which includes a plan of care specific to each patient's circumstance and goals of the treatment.
The Recreational Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing a Therapeutic Recreational Program and evaluating and documenting patients' progress through interdisciplinary care conferences to monitor and change treatment plans as necessary.
Our Recreational Therapist on the Adult Mental Health Unit have an hourly base rate starting at $20.10 and is commensurate with experience and could be eligible for shift differentials.
In this position you would be scheduled to work 5-8 hour shifts (40 hours/week, considered full time) with start/end times of 8a-4:40p. This position does not have a holiday or weekend requirement.
With at least 16 hours per week this position is benefit eligible.
What is required for this position:
Upon hire you must have:
Bachelors Degree in one of the following areas:
Within 30 days of hire you must have:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
Within 60 days of hire you must have:
Handle with Care Certification.
Within 1 year of hire you must have:
National Council Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT) or Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC)
(CRH provides training & time to acquire certification after employment.)
