The music therapist works with all ages and developmental levels and provides a variety of music interventions that promote coping, skill development, and self-expression. A Place to Be ProudResponsibilitiesUses music therapeutically within individual and group settings to provide interactions that enhance development, coping, normalization, self-expression, and family bonding.Identifies and modifies treatment based on comprehensive assessment and re-evaluation, with additional consideration for patient/family values and preferences. Advocates, empowers, and supports appropriate parental learning and involvement in their child's care through music therapy interventions and contributes to a patient's legacy through music interventions.Demonstrates competent musical skills with guitar, voice, piano, hand percussion, and music technology.Appropriately prioritizes work flow based on patient/family care needs and other responsibilities.Creates documentation which is timely, pertinent, and compliant with department standards.Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning and co-treatment when appropriate.Coordinates, trains, and supervises students in majors related to departmental programs during field work/internship experiences.Supports patient/family programming that is music focused.
