We'll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value ofspirituality in healing.We're proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.Your day.As a Physical Therapist you need to know how to: Conduct physical therapy evaluations, program planning, and treatmentsfor hospital inpatients and outpatients. Participate in patient education, department budget and equipmentplanning, program development and department charting, charging, andscheduling activities. Work independently with limited supervision. Interprets physicians' referrals for physical therapy services and selectsthe appropriate diagnostic or prognostic procedures for evaluating patients'disabilities such as muscle weakness, joint limitation, loss of functionalability and sensory deficiency from muscle, nerve, joint and bone diseasesand injuries or birth defects. Perform evaluation procedures and analyzes the results to determine theextent of patients' disabilities, establish patient goals, assessfunctional progress, and to develop and adjust initial and subsequenttreatment programs. Conduct tests of strength, upright motor control, spasticity,sensation, proprioception, visual field, bulbar functions,cognition, gait analysis, body image, electro-diagnostic, and other tests. Perform complex treatments such as proprioceptive neuromuscularfacilitation, muscle re-education, bulbar treatment and use of plastersplints for positioning a body member. Confer with physicians regarding evaluation, treatment and progress ofpatients and expresses judgments upon which physicians base decisions toimprove the patient's function using a wide variety of surgical or bracingprocedures. Advise allied health personnel, teachers and families regarding patients'progress and discharge plans. Participates on an interdisciplinary team andreports on assigned patients' condition and progress.Your experience.We hire people, not resumes.
