Ecumen Lakeshore consists of 140 independent living and assisted living rental apartment homes as well as 60 short stay rehab beds, 20 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Duluth, Minnesota. Ecumen creates home for older adults wherever they choose to live. Responsibilities This position transports patients to and from therapy and other activities, assists in maintaining treatment areas, and performs clerical tasks. Essential job responsibilities include: Reviews therapy schedule and provides appropriate patient transportation. Assists therapists in patient-related activities, such as treatment setup/preparation, performing routine, standardized exercises as directed by the therapist, assisting with transfers and standing activities, and patient observation. Ensures therapeutic equipment is ready for use by performing scheduled cleaning of equipment, reporting any unsafe conditions, and keeping equipment area organized. Participates in rehab meetings and offers ideas/solutions in problem solving situations/activities regarding the program. Participates in quality management activities including data collection for quality review. Performs clerical tasks and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Physical Therapist Aide Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events. Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in home health, hospice or senior care.
