WellSpan Health Radiation Therapist I - Ephrata Community Hospital - Part Time in Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Part Time (48 hours / 2 weeks) Day Shift (7:30am - 4:00pm) 3 day/week Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor-Radiation Therapy, provides radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by physician according to established Wellspan Oncology Servile Line standards and practices at a beginning or intermediate specialist skills level. Assists with CT-simulation procedures and/or other treatments/procedures as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients; obtains patient history, answers patient questions, and explains procedure.

  • Checks prescription, diagnosis, chart, patient identification, etc.

  • Prepares room and equipment for patient.

  • Reinforces recommendations given to patient by the physician, nurses, dietician, etc., concerning reaction to treatment and care of the radiated area, prevention or treatment of generalized and local side effects.

  • Observes patient for any unusual reactions or events.

  • Performs IGRT tumor localization procedures.

  • Prepares patient and equipment for, and performs simulation procedures.


  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program with appropriate training in radiation therapy

  • ARRT(T) registration or registry eligible (must obtain registry within 6 months of hire) and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiation Therapist until registry obtained;

  • BLS certification required within six months of date of hire

  • 0 - 12 months experience
