Maxim Healthcare Services Occupational Therapist Assistant - Certified in Goodyear, Arizona
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to support patients with various mental and physical disabilities under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) and according to the Physician’s plan of care. Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTA) will treat to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease. The ultimate priority of our Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) is to restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.
Assists Occupational Therapist with patient screening by administering structured tests, client observation, data collection, and organization.
Explain procedures and expected progress to patient
Set equipment up for patients as needed
Teach home exercise program to patients and family as needed
Educate patients and family on various conditions as needed
Discuss treatment and progress with Occupational Therapist
Document patient treatment and progress
Regularly clean and organize equipment
Other Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with either an Associate’s degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc.
Current, unencumbered state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)
Minimum one (1) year of Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) experience required with home health experience preferred
Current CPR certification
Copy of updated Physical, based on state requirements
Copy of updated TB results/ Chest x-ray
