The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department. These direct patient care services are provided to all ages of patients. They shall function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care. The therapist will serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care in accordance with department policy and procedures.

This overnight position is 7p-7a for three shifts per week, total 36hrs per week. Requires every third weekend. Shift, weekend and holiday differentials apply! We offer great benefits!
You Will Be Responsible For:
Exceptional Patient Care: Administers inhaled medications, bronchopulmonary drainage/hygiene therapies, and medical gases as prescribed
Technical Familiarity: Sets up, operates and manages patient care on respiratory related equipment such as mechanical ventilators, NIPPV/CPAP, or High Flow Oxygen devices; Manages patients on invasive mechanical ventilation modes (AC, PSV, PC, APRV, Bi-level)
Excellent Communicator: Performs initial and ongoing assessments to gauge appropriateness and response to therapy
Strong Educator: Educates patients and families on disease prevention, smoking cessation, treatment procedure and use of respiratory devices
Active Teamwork: Responds to medical emergency situations for all age populations and coordinates the activities with other members of the response team
Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Care, minimum of a two-year Associate's Degree
Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC). Certified RT may be considered but must get RRT within 6 months.
Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care
At least one year clinical experience, preferred
