General Summary: The staff Physical Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures. He/she assumes responsibility/accountability for patients being treated by physical therapy support staff. Essential Duties: Develops and implements an appropriate treatment plan for each patient. Serves as a resource of information and treatment skill for less knowledgeable staff, provide student supervision as needed. Supervises assigned support staff. Collaborates with intra and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care.Collaborates with patient, family, significant other in treatment and in discharge planning. Provides written documentation to the physician regarding the patient initially, at discharge, and at appropriate intervals. Standard Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program. Preferred: Master's or Doctorate Degree Licensure/Certifications: Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
