JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Overview Part-time, temporary, staff position available in MU Neuro Recovery Clinic is responsible for providing specialized outpatient occupational therapy evaluation and treatment of patients, including the development of plan of care, and ongoing treatment with patients through all phases of occupational therapy. Position requires ensuring every patient receives a unique experience through a comprehensive, thorough, and customized occupational therapy regimen with an emphasis on quality care provided in a friendly and encouraging environment. Position may include mentorship of staff occupational therapists and the clinical instruction of graduate level OT students. Position requires community outreach and educational opportunities within the Marquette community or community at large as needed. Additional duties as assigned by Neuro Recovery Clinic team are also required. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide occupational therapy evaluation and subsequent treatment of incoming patients while maintaining culture of evidence-based care and overall long-term patient wellness. 2. Assist in promotion and marketing of Marquette Neuro Recovery Clinic including communication with potential referral sources to expand existing business and cultivate new business. 3.Maintain current knowledge of occupational therapist roles and continuing trends in the industry. 4. Provide mentorship and consultantship to Neuro Recovery Clinic staff and students currently working to develop new areas of practice and programming. 5. Discuss treatment with patients and record patient conditions and responses to treatments. Complete daily patient care notes, progress notes, discharge notes and other required forms for all patients prior to end of day. 6. Complete training and maintain competence on clinic technology to ensure patient safety and appropriate utilization. 7. Communicate with referring physicians, and other health care personnel regarding occupation therapy and equipment. 8. Document treatments rendered and appropriate billing and in electronic medical record. Ensure billing amounts on treatment sheets match billing sheets and that all units of treatment are accounted for and ensure billing accuracy and prior to submission to billing service. 9. Maintain and continue to develop clinical skills through continuing education. 10. Perform other duties as assigned by Neuro Recovery Clinic leadership. Appropriate state licensure, current, and in good standing. Minimum of 3 years' experience required with documented focus within the evaluation and treatment of the neurologic population. Specialty training in the care the neurologic population preferred within the following populations: CVA, SCI, TBI/concussion, degenerative diseases; experience in program development.
