Annual Salary: $43,080

Full time and Casual positions available


The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist provides outpatient therapy and related clinical services to a child, adolescent, and/or adult clients and their families in office and/or school settings. This position has flexible scheduling needs and can include working evening and weekend hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all staff development, training and meetings as required.

  • Implements and maintains the Outpatient Mental Health program’s philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance.

  • Provide services and conduct self in a manner consistent with the professions Code of Ethics.

  • Prepare or assist in preparation and implementation of treatment/educational plans and goals that reflect unit standards and measurable outcomes.

  • Assess or provide therapy, counseling, intervention and/or education to clients in a professional manner.

  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.

  • Complete timely and accurate documentation. Meet audited tested requirements.

  • Communicate, collaborate and meet with staff, families, external agencies and/or others as necessary to support services to clients and the mission of the agency. Inform, instruct and assist client concerning the access of appropriate community resources.

  • Complete the required number of sessions per pay period.

  • Assure continuous reimbursable sessions for assigned clients. Work with the billing department to monitor client compliance with payments and developing payment plan with clients as needed.

  • Track and complete managed care authorizations and extensions.

  • Fully participate in staff development opportunities offered to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.

  • Participate in planned supervision and case consultation conferences. Come prepared with an agenda and keep supervisor informed.


  • Master’s degree in Mental Health, Counseling, Social Work or Psychology with a minimum of two years experience.

  • Preferred is experience with clinical techniques in Child Development, Family Systems theory and Brief-Solution Focused Treatment or other comparable treatment modalities.

  • Pennsylvania licensure and insurance credentialed; LCSW, LPC or LMFT

  • Support the organization’s mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.

  • Planning and time management and strong organizational skills.

  • A valid driver’s license along with access to a vehicle.

  • Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.

  • Ability to main confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.

  • Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling and site locations and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.

  • Communication along with professionalism.

    Working Conditions:

  • This position provides most services in clinics or schools which may require mobility up and down steps and work in non-air conditioned spaces for six to eight hours at a time.

  • The ability and flexibility with scheduling along with access to a vehicle or other reliable transportation to use for off-site services.

  • Must have flexibility with evening and weekend work.

  • Attendance for staff meetings, supervisions and trainings are typically held at either the Shady Avenue or Banksville Road locations.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds of files.

  • May do some pushing, pulling, standing and walking (1-3 hours)
