Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE | 40 hours/week), day shift, PHYSICAL THERAPIST CLINICAL SPECIALIST. PT Clinical Specialist carries an 80% patient caseload. Primary diagnoses on the rehabilitation unit include: traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and stroke. This position independently assesses, plans, and administers Physical Therapy safely and effectively. This includes progression of treatment goals, accurate documentation and education of patient and family. The PT Clinical Specialist will assess and treat a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems and will assist other therapists with patient care issues. The PT Clinical Specialist will also coordinate the clinic's student program and assists manager in coordination of Quality Improvement activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently assesses, plans, and administers Physical Therapy safely and effectively Develops patient treatment goals Provides accurate documentation and education of patient and family Assesses and treats a patient caseload ranging from routine to complex patient problems Assists other therapists with patient care issues Acts as a resource within the Rehab Therapies Department for other health care professionals Provides education and training to other rehab therapy staff and health care professionals Assists staff therapist with complex patient management issues REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Program AND 2.5 years of experience in the practice of physical therapy AND Completion of applicable training or education in the specialty service; OR Equivalent education/experience. LEGAL REQUIREMENT: Current Washington State license to practice as a Physical Therapist. DESIRED: APTA Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist Experience mentoring staff and/or students required
