All Children's Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine provides expert pediatric care for infants, children and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems in our community and around the world. With more than half of our 259 beds devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's West Coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures


The physical therapist (PT) is responsible to provide quality clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team at the hospital and/or outpatient care centers as assigned. Demonstrate competency in evaluation and treatment, utilizing value based care and evidence based practices. Receives clinical review by the PT Clinical Coordinators.




  1. Performs assessment and treatment of patients with impairment, functional limitation, and disability or other health-related conditions to obtain their maximum level of function.

  2. Practices family-centered care by working in partnership with caregivers and patients to encourage and empower their active participation in the care plan.

  3. Completes accurate and timely documentation of services in accordance with professional and compliance standards to best reflect the patient's status and needs, support revenue cycle and facilitate communication for continuity of care.

  4. Demonstrates responsible actions and initiative to positively impact patient access to care and contribute to the department's financial performance.

  5. Provides education and mentoring for: students, interns, residents, observers, volunteers and/or staff to support their development.

  6. Develops and/or implements clinical activities which improve or expand physical therapy services, within the department and/or hospital system, to benefit patient care.

  7. Provide supervision of physical therapist assistant(s) for provision and delivery of service that is safe, effective, and efficient in accordance to department, state, and APTA standards.




 Bachelors, Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of PT.

 Licensed to practice PT in the state of Florida.




Physical therapy coverage at the Acute Care Setting.

Saturday coverage required to assist with priority patients and facilitate d/c from the hospital setting.
