Our West Orange Northfield outpatient orthopedic and oncologic therapy center continues to expand, and we are seeking a compassionate and driven licensed occupational therapist to provide exceptional patient care experiences on a full time basis.
Seize the opportunity to join our highly trained and respected ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Program team, who provide rehabilitative services to help improve quality of life for people affected by cancer. Lymphedema certification and interest in cancer rehabilitation required. Our ReVital team provides the necessary education and training for therapists invested in treating both our oncologic and orthopedic population, which must be completed within the first 6-12 months of employment. Your caseload would include a steady mix of orthopedics, cancer rehabilitation, and lymphedema. Strong candidates will have a desire to growth the cancer rehabilitation caseload. Our work environment offers a great opportunity to provide quality care to our patients and grow with the nation's leader in outpatient physical therapy.
This clinic is a large multidisciplinary center, current with 8 physical therapists and 1 occupational therapist. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday 7 am to 8 pm, Friday 7 am to 6 pm, Saturday 8 am to 12 pm. Treating hours would be a mix within clinic operating hours.

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist (OT):
Performs comprehensive evaluations, develops and appropriately progresses individualized treatment plans.
Provides thorough education to patients and caregivers in a manner they can understand, and plans appropriately for discharge when medical necessity no longer indicates skilled therapeutic care.
Participates in departmental initiatives and demonstrates effective communication with all rehab team members.
Facilitates professional growth, development and overall improvement of departmental performance.
Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery.
Successful completion of those educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Occupational Therapy
Current State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of which he or she will practice
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required
Ability to work 40 hours per week with occasional late or early shifts to accommodate patients
Interest in cancer rehabilitation
Ability to lift patients using appropriate biomechanical techniques frequently throughout the course of a workday/shift. Must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds dead weight alone
Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a workday/shift
Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and monitor patient needs and to maintain accurate records, recognize people and provide directions
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions
Ability to push wheeled equipment through the facility and in the community
Possess fine motor skills for legible and accurate reporting, charting, scheduling, daily correspondence, and presentations, either manually or through use of electronic equipment
Possess fine motor skills for effective and efficient handling of diagnostic or therapeutic equipment
