Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the rightteam is invincible.Us.As a Respiratory Therapist with us, you will be responsible foradministering safe and competent respiratory care as ordered per physician,with emphasis in specialty areas (i.e., Emergency, Neonatal,Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care), monitoring mechanicalventilation, administering medications, patient assessment,understanding ramifications of hemodynamic monitoring, understanding bloodwork results, monitoring, teaching, and training.Lutheran Medical Center is part of SCL Health, a faith-based, nonprofithealthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratorycare procedures per department policy and procedures. Receive and give accurate and complete report. Update and complete patientprofile card to reflect patient's current clinical status. Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of respiratory care instruments andequipment. Perform troubleshooting with appropriate problem resolution. Perform effective airway management to include bag/mask ventilation. Assistphysician/intubation certified therapist with intubation. Demonstrate safeand appropriate suction techniques and use of artificial airways. Initiate, maintain, monitor and document continuous mechanical ventilation. Provide timely and accurate update information to the physicians and otherhospital personnel. Make recommendations for changes or modification ofpatient therapy by contacting physicians. Understand and institute advanced ventilator modalities. Initiate, maintainand monitor ventilator patients. Interpret flow volumes and pressure volumecurves to initiate appropriate clinical changes. Effectively discuss advanced respiratory pathophysiology with physicians,and implement changes based on patient condition. Perform arterial blood gas sampling. Evaluate chest x-ray for endotracheal placement and other clinical conditionsoptimizing respiratory care delivery.Your experience.We hire people, not resumes.
